About us
Lynbrook Math Club is a student-led organization that participates in a multitude of math competitions, whether regionally in the Bay Area or nationally in the USA. We participate in competitive and recreational mathematics, both in school and outside of school, with a goal of promoting math beyond the high school curriculum through presentations and other activities on and off campus. We have one of the highest attendance rates in Lynbrook and are in charge of running all of the school math contests, including the AMCs, Math Madness, and CAML.

Meet the Officers
Sumedh Shenoy
President
A senior, Sumedh’s favorite parts of math competitions are the free t-shirts. While doing math, he spends much of his time extolling the virtues of a good diagram, but cannot actually use a compass. In his free time, you can find him collecting coins, attempting to become a Pokémon master, and playing Ultimate Frisbee.
Kevin Li
Vice President
A senior, Kevin likes counting the number of camels that appear on the CAML. Unfortunately, this is a non-nonzero number. This year, Kevin is correcting a chronic habit of drawing incredibly small math diagrams. In his free time, you may find that he is obsessed with a “weird history game,” which he insists (to his parents) is also math-related.
Nitish Bansal
Vice President
A senior, Nitish refuses to use a TI calculator over Casio. However, Casio often trolls him, and he ends up using way more scratch paper than expected which may or may not be the leading cause of math club’s diminishing budget. In his free time, you can find him eating chocolate, counting the different kinds of socks people wear on campus, and playing basketball with people strictly below 5 feet.
Steven Pan
Treasurer
A junior, Steven thoroughly enjoys struggling on cringe combo problems. Inevitably, he is unable to solve them and resorts to solving geo problems with diagrams not drawn to scale. In his free time, you will find him attempting to connect math, undoubtedly the greatest subject, with other completely unrelated topics.
Eric Shen
Secretary
A junior, Eric has been a longtime participant of math competitions. He prides himself on his ability to draw large, to-scale geometry diagrams with a compass without using too much scratch paper. In his free time, you can find him trying to beat Stockfish level 1 in ultrabullet.
Rita Korsunsky
Advisor
Mrs. Korsunsky has been teaching Pre-Calculus Honors and AP Calculus BC at Lynbrook since she arrived in 2001. She also is the advisor for Math Club, overseeing all activities and meetings.
